App Inventor – a simple tool
If you want to start working on your own applications quickly and without much effort, then you should be interested in the great App Inventor tool. Originally created by Google and currently developed by the famous Massachusetts Institute of Technology – App Inventor is the perfect choice for people like you. This tool is available for free and allows you to create applications for Android without using any code. You simply submit applications from ready-made elements – as if you were assembling them from blocks. In a short time you can build the interface of your application, add various functionalities to it and export to the ‘apk’ format. Thanks to this, applications created in App Inventor can even be published on Google Play!
App Inventor requires only one thing – a computer with Firefox or Chrome. For this you will still need a free Google account and you can start working now.
The App Inventor tool works in two basic modes: interface design (Designer) and creating application logic (Block). In each of these modes you have at your disposal a set of ready-to-use elements from which you can easily assemble your application. These elements include, among others view components: lists, buttons, text boxes etc. You can also use typical device functions such as GPS, SMS or memory card.
Testing what you have created is also not a problem. You can easily connect your Android device or test the app on the built-in emulator.
